We have around 7500 km of coastline,14 Major Ports & 187 minor & intermediary ports,large Inland waterways , large area under EEZ & 32 Major water reservoirs -to manage all these resources Hydro graphic Surveying is one of major component.Except NIH of Navy & Institution of Surveyors (India) no other University conducts courses on hydrography.
It is need of time to promote & regulate the profession of Hydrographic Surveying to manage the need of maritime development of nation.
